More than a decade ago, I bought my very first car—a good old Audi 80. I still remember finding a CD left behind by the previous owner, a hand-picked mixtape of sorts. As soon as I turned the ignition, the first track started playing: "Sonnentanz." Little did I know that this random moment would mark the beginning of a long-standing "friendship" with the music of the Austrian duo Klangkarussell, a sound that has followed me for over ten years.
Friday night at Palladium Riga felt like much more than just another event to cover. Hearing those tracks live, and seeing the Canadian artist GIVVEN join them on stage, was a true "coming full circle" moment. His haunting vocals on hits like "Ghostkeeper" and "Afterglow" brought a raw, live energy to the room that was simply unforgettable.
The "Crave Nights" series proved once again that electronic music isn't just about the bass and the beat—it’s about stories and emotions. Klangkarussell delivered a night where melancholy met euphoria, and nostalgia blended seamlessly with a fresh, powerful energy.
A huge thank you to the artists for a trip down memory lane and an incredible boost for the future.
